On July 5th 1941 Soviet air defence managed to down one of three German JU-88 bombers. The aircraft crashed in the sea killing the entire German crew.

Several dives to the crash site were conducted in the 1990´s but the documentation (among them 5 hours of film footage of the dives) along with some of the finds found during earlier salvage operation is ”here and there”.

The Hanko 1941 project will work scientifically in order to get collect all of the documentary and other material in one place.
